Starfish Baby-boom – Species Is Thriving In Pacific NW

AP story about the revival of starfish along the West Coast. It reminded me about a poignant plea for support from the executive director of RE Sources who couldn’t find any starfish one day and quickly jumped to species extinction and the causes of extinction. A summary of Chicken Little’s story is below.   Sept. 9, 2014 Crina Hoyer, Executive Director, RE Sources for Sustainable Communities, claiming starfish (sea stars) could become extinct due to ocean acidification and pollution as she rallies supporters for its causes. 8:40 mark of video “I know that by telling you these things, I could sound like that crazy person who stands on the side of the street with the ‘End of the world is near’ sign.” ~ Crina Hoyer – RE Sources May 9, 2016 Starfish babies return in droves after massive die-off:

Stop the Power Grab

This November you will have an opportunity to STOP the POWER GRAB! How, you ask? Take a moment to watch this video from Dove Whatcom. It is so important to remember and remind yourself why we love Whatcom County. We all want to live, work, and play here. That’s why it is so important to give the people their voice and insure that no one; not RE Sources, Futurewise, and especially no Politician or political group gains control of your County. That’s why I am asking you to vote NO on Whatcom County Council’s (and RE Sources) Propositions 9 and 10, this November. ~ Kris Halterman   This is a guest article written by local resident and Whatcom County Charter Review Member, Chet Dow. Chet has shared this article with local blogs because the local Bellingham Herald didn’t. ~ Kris Halterman POWER GRAB Seldom has the expression “elections have consequences”  held more meaning to Whatcom County than it will this November. Fearing that Whatcom voters will approve ballot Propositions 1-2-3 to establish district voting for County Council, local “progressives” led by Lisa McShane, former Bellingham Mayor Tim Douglas, Charter Review Commissioner Todd Donovan, and the environmental extremist group RE Sources for Sustainable Communities began planning a campaign to undermine the …

Gang Green and Government’s Staff Infection – Whittle style

“An Evening with Bill Whittle,” came to the Mt. Baker Theatre on a Friday evening in August. During the evenings event Bill Whittle gave kudos and credited the brilliant mind of Glen Morgan, for capturing in a brief and descriptive sentence the illness which is consuming our state; “Gang Green and Government’s Staff Infection.” Even our own Joe Remenar is mentioned in Bill’s, “Tie-Dyed Tyranny.” Who is Joe Remenar? Saturday Morning Live shared Joe’s story in April of 2013 for the first time and as in the famous words of Rahm Emanuel ; You never let a serious crisis go to waste. And what I mean by that it’s an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before.  ~ Rahm Emanuel The story of Joe Remenar was highlighted to help push back against an out of control Whatcom County Planning Department and their gang of bullies who demanded that Joe fill in the water habitat he created or pay a hefty fine. Joe’s story didn’t have a fairytale ending… Thank you for the honorable mention on Saturday morning.  As far as my pond, the county has allowed me to keep it as long as I complete extensive …

As promised SML is providing a brief outline, commentary and links to the third in a series of four water forums, and sponsored by the Rome Grange. I want to personally thank the Kirk Family and Whatcom Works, for providing the high quality Whatcom Works – YouTube video(s) of the past water forums. Your dedication to the process and promotion of transparent government is greatly appreciated. The panel discussions within all three of the past forums has covered a wide-range of the water issues. Each panelist comes from a differing sector of the Whatcom County; private business, public employee, government leaders, non-government leaders, property rights, water rights, environmental rights, wildlife concerns and many other personal agendas. The forums address the water issue, and the information shared by the panelists and the questions asked, will give the tax payers and residents of the County a basic understanding of this issue and help them to plan for the future. There is a great need to wake-up citizens in Whatcom County about the litigation and regulatory restrictions being looked at. In regards to water access and usage, this is happening across the state including here in, Whatcom County. There are many questions to ask, such as; how much water is there, where is …

How does She get away with it?

Should Corporate America and our Government officials be taking advice from this woman?
