The Consensus of Climate Scientists, “That’s Mine and You Can’t Have It!”

Climate scientists are getting away with a clever gambit that we ordinary citizens better not try with the IRS. They tell Congress, taxpayers and energy consumers that all their “homogenized,” exaggerated, manipulated and fabricated data, their records and other documents, are their private property. Their analyses, computer codes and algorithms are proprietary. And when we get testy or threaten them with legal actions, they tell us they resent our “intimidation tactics.” My commentary this week examines this outrageous chutzpah in detail. Thank you for posting it for your Saturday readers. Best regards, Paul A new strategy for tax cheats You can guess what would happen if you used the same tactics that climate alarmists employ, by Paul Driessen Suppose you’ve been using some creative data, accounting and legal interpretations for years to reduce your tax bill – and the IRS suddenly flags you for a full-blown audit. Instead of trembling in your boots, shredding your records, calling a top-flight lawyer, and preparing for an extended jail visit, just do this: Patiently explain that your raw data, records and other documents are your private property. Your legal analyses, accounting methods, and unique computer codes and algorithms are proprietary. The IRS has …

Health and Safety…the language used to sell a Green Agenda and higher costs of living for Everyone

Everyday local and national news headlines screech “heath and safety,” it’s the moral thing to do! We are told; “What’s a few pennies, a few nickels, a few dimes, a few quarters, a few dollars, a latte-or-two, for the health and safety of a nation?” Hundreds (if not thousands) of latte’s later we are still being sold that same jargon. When will our sacrifices, our social obligation through taxation and regulation be enough? Are we affecting the poverty level? In the 1950’s the poverty level was 22.4%, in the year 2000 the poverty level was 11.3% and in 2010 the rate rose to 15.1% (after all that stimulus spending???) and yet we are still bombarded with the hysteria that the sky is falling, we have to force equality by sharing everything through mandated minimum wage, hundreds of new taxes and regulations and now President Obama and Governor Inslee are implementing their plans, by executive order (the actions of Kings over the Serfs) for massive new carbon restrictions “and” carbon taxes. More pain for the health and safety of our nation. Really? Well the best way to balance all of this is to reach out and expose the hypocrisy. Did you …

Dear Honorable Whatcom County Council;

Below I have shared my Email sent  to the Whatcom County Council on Feb. 2nd, 2014, asking them to please listen to last weeks testimony given by Environmental Scientist, Jay Lehr, PhD, in Olympia, WA, at the “Senate Energy, Environment and Telecommunications Committee” hearing.  It was brought to my attention that regrettably, State Senator Kevin Ranker walked out prior to Dr. Lehr’s testimony.  This not only shows the closed mindedness of State Senator Ranker, but also how he did a huge disservice to those of us whom Senator Ranker is obligated to represent. ~ Kris Halterman RBrowne@co.whatcom.wa.us ; BBuchana@co.whatcom.wa.us ; PKremen@whatcomcounty.us ; KMann@co.whatcom.wa.us ; SCrawfor@co.whatcom.wa.us ; CWeimer@co.whatcom.wa.us ; BBrenner@co.whatcom.wa.us Honorable Council Members, Last week State Senator Erickson’s “Energy, Environment and Telecommunications Committee,” invited Dr. Jay Lehr to testify. This is what he had to say, “Why Washington state would consider legislation to reduce CO2 emissions is something I can’t figure out,” Jay Lehr, PhD, told members of the state Senate’s Energy, Environment and Telecommunications Committee on Wednesday morning. The link I’m sharing with you is Dr. Lehr’s testimony and I ask that each of you take a moment to listen to this testimony.  The media is flush with lots of …

IPCC slashes warming predictions by half with little media attention

In 2014 it is my sincere hope that the media gives the man-made global warming debate the no-spin treatment.  With corrected data coming in which shows not only no warming for the past 13 to 17 years, and a likely trend towards cooling over warming…it is time to stop wasting precious tax dollars to save mankind from mankind.  This article written by Lord Christopher Monckton was posted to the WUWT website, a forum dedicated to quality science news for all who strive to get out of the echo chamber created by politicians and the mainstream media. ~ Kris Halterman IPCC silently slashes its global warming predictions in the AR5 final draft Posted on January 1, 2014 by Guest Blogger Guest essay by Christopher Monckton of Brenchley Unnoticed, the IPCC has slashed its global-warming predictions, implicitly rejecting the models on which it once so heavily and imprudently relied. In the second draft of the Fifth Assessment Report it had broadly agreed with the models that the world will warm by 0.4 to 1.0 Cº from 2016-2035 against 1986-2005. But in the final draft it quietly cut the 30-year projection to 0.3-0.7 Cº, saying the warming is more likely to be at the …

If the Gateway Pacific Project overcomes All environmental concerns, will it receive a Green Light?

The Whatcom Tea Party (WTP) organized an information and debate between Craig Cole (Gateway Pacific Terminal – GPT) and Terry Wechsler (Power Past Coal) for Oct. 9th, 2013, but unfortunately Ms. Wechsler was forced to withdraw from the debate last Thursday.  Apparently Ms. Wechsler wished to participate in the debate, but the Power Past Coal organization asked her to withdraw due to the close proximity of the upcoming November 2013, general election.  The WTP informed Mr. Cole of Ms. Wechsler’s withdrawal from the debate and Mr. Cole agreed that he would still address the audience at the general meeting.  Mr. Cole thought that he might be able to find another anti-GPT spokesperson to fill-in for Ms. Wechsler, but did not succeed in his search. The attendance was light, but those who were in attendance came to ask questions.  There were some in the audience who sincerely wanted to know more about the project, but most were curious about things like: How will the Washington State Department of Ecology’s globalized scoping affect the process?  Answer: No one knows.  The type of scoping that the WSDOE is requiring to be done has never been done before.  No one at WSDOE has explained …

IPCC AR5 SPM – Released with Flaws ~ If they don’t report it will anyone care?

On today’s program with Chris Cargill we discussed the Washington Policy Centers (WaPo) expose on the call for a performance audit to be done on I-937 (Energy Independence Act) by a coalition of lawmakers and business groups. The WaPo article points to Olympia’s failure to address the need to examine whether this initiative, or any new laws, regulations and initiatives actually deliver a real benefit to the people. A performance audit for I-937 would require that this initiative be looked at for simple, reasonable benchmarks such as: How many others states/countries with renewable energy production targets exclude hydro generated power from their targets? Is the implementation of I-937 saving businesses and consumers money as promised? Are the renewable energy targets of I-937 resulting in cheaper energy production as promised? Have the renewable energy requirements reduced the carbon intensity of Washington’s electricity? How much have the policies of I-937 either reduced or increased the electricity bills for businesses, governments, and private residences and by how much? Have the policies of I-937 resulted in Washington utilities selling excess hydro power to other states? When you couple this with the revelation that the new United Nations – IPCC AR5 SPM report fails to …
