Saturday Morning Live for Dec. 19, 2015

Today’s show is all about Christmas. The first part of the show we will be honored by the caroling of the 8:30 AM Choir (aka: the Sacred Heart Carolers). The second part of the show is all about chocolate. The owners of Raw Cha Cha Chocolat will share their story of entrepreneurship and love of chocolate. What Child is This? What Child is this, who, laid to rest, on Mary’s lap is sleeping? Whom angels greet with anthems sweet while shepherds watch are keeping? This, this is Christ the king, Whom shepherds guard and angels sing; haste, haste, to bring him laud, the babe, the son of Mary Why lies he in such mean estate where ox and ass are feeding? Good Christian, fear; for sinners here The silent Word is pleading. Nails, spear shall pierce him through, the cross be borne for me, for you; hail, hail the Word made flesh, the babe, the son of Mary. Gang Green and Government’s Staff Infection – Whittle style

“An Evening with Bill Whittle,” came to the Mt. Baker Theatre on a Friday evening in August. During the evenings event Bill Whittle gave kudos and credited the brilliant mind of Glen Morgan, for capturing in a brief and descriptive sentence the illness which is consuming our state; “Gang Green and Government’s Staff Infection.” Even our own Joe Remenar is mentioned in Bill’s, “Tie-Dyed Tyranny.” Who is Joe Remenar? Saturday Morning Live shared Joe’s story in April of 2013 for the first time and as in the famous words of Rahm Emanuel ; You never let a serious crisis go to waste. Joe’s story didn’t have a fairytale ending… Thank you for the honorable mention on Saturday morning.  As far as my pond, the county has allowed me to keep it as long as I complete extensive …

What’s a Curmudgeon? Answer: Experience Speaking Common Sense

Last week at the Northwest Washington Fair my good-friend Lorraine found a special local magazine published for senior retirees, Northwest Retirement Magazine. Northwest Retirement Magazine is a print and online publication full of articles and advertising which focuses on the needs of seniors. The magazine has a regular feature called Curmudgeon’s Corner that shares an anonymous writer’s perspective on daily life. Lorraine shared this article with me and I enjoyed it so much I wanted to share it with you. Northwest Retirement Magazine is a free publication, so I trust that I am not violating anyone’s property rights by sharing this article published in the latest issue of their free magazine for retired people. Please enjoy the Curmudgeon’s Corner. If you know the author of this article please tell them I said thank you. Their words plucked a string in my heart and made me laugh today. ~ Kris Halterman
