Landlords Consider Lawsuit from Intrusive Bellingham Licensing Program

Saturday Morning Live received notice of a meeting for Landlords to discuss their legal options and protections from the recent Landlord Licensing ordinance that was imposed and becomes effective on July 1st, 2015.

The email notice for this meeting is posted below.

We met last week and discussed a potential lawsuit against the city for overstepping the laws and intruding upon the rights of property owners.  The attorneys Scott Swanson and Pete Dworkin believe we have a case.  The attorneys are estimating the research for the case will cost $5k to $10k and litigation would cost between $30k to $50k.  This meeting will help answer questions for anybody interested in joining the lawsuit or being a financial backer.  Be sure and spread the word to any landlord you know!
