Chuckanut Chapter, Order of DeMolay will be hosting an information night at the Bellingham Masonic Center on Wednesday, March 25th at 7:00 pm. The Bellingham Masonic Center is located at 2626 West Maplewood in Bellingham.
The informational night is for parents and young men to gather information about the organization and answer questions that they may have.
DeMolay is an international youth organization for young men between the ages of 12 and 21. The fraternity is a youth leadership and development organization focused on character development, leadership development, responsibility and accountability, as well as mental, moral and emotional fitness.
DeMolay as an organization employs the chapter concept on the local level and elects youth members to lead the organization. DeMolay is youth led, not adult led, in its approach. Adults are there to keep them safe. DeMolay ideals are expressed in ceremonies that reinforce the cardinal virtues of a DeMolay: Filial Love, Reverence for Sacred Things, Courtesy, Comradeship, Fidelity, Cleaness and Patriotism. The ceremonies also build the confidence and public speaking abilities of the participants.
DeMolay offers a balanced program of activities, events and projects that create opportunities for learning, serving and having fun. The youth led concept provides for positive adult and youth association through mentoring and coaching opportunities with adult advisors that have passed rigorous background checks to ensure a high degree of youth protection.
DeMolay is an affordable program with a low, one-time life membership fee. Chapters then work to raise funds to minimize out-of-pocket expenses.
While DeMolay is a program for young men, DeMolay is associated with Rainbow for Girls and Job’s Daughters. These associations among the three youth programs allow interaction with an expectation of respectful attitudes and treating each other as peers and equals.

If anyone would like an example of the public ceremonies of DeMolay that express the values and ideals of the organization, I have attached the Ceremony of Light which was written by an active DeMolay member at the height of the Vietnam War as well as the Flower Talk which is a tribute to Mothers everywhere.
I have also included a PSA segment from Brad Paisley and one from Kurtwood Smith.
Thanks for all that you do to promote youth organization and values in the community.
Regards,Troy Nutter Chairman, Advisory Council Chuckanut Chapter, Order of DeMolay
