Congressman Larsen admits Obamacare isn’t perfect

In 2009 through 2010 the American public was very clear about how they felt about the passing of Obamacare (PPACA).  The publics response in 2009/2010, according to Congressman Larsen was, “No” and “Hell No!”  But Congressman Larsen let the little people know that he knew better and that Obamacare would slow down health insurance and medical costs immediately and curb the cost curve downward in the future.

Two weeks ago I received the new rates for both my sons health insurance premiums and on a separate plan the premium rate increase for my husband and I.  Both are slated to take effect on January 1, 2013.  My sons plan increases from $102.00 to $220.00, with a  higher deductible, co-pay and out of pocket maximum as another kick in the rear for good measure.  The health insurance premiums for my husband and I are going from $556.00 per month for both of us to $1080.00 per month for both of us.  Again, higher deductibles, co-pays and out of pocket maximums.

So now Congress has the opportunity to do the right thing for the middle class who will be crushed by these changes.  Whether it is due to a +100% increases in health insurance premiums, higher co-pays and deductibles, increased health care usage by everyone (it’s free right?), less incentive for the medical community to participate at the levels that they have due to government controls that curb research and profit potential, ‘We the People’ are getting shafted once again.   What was Congressman Larsen’s wise words to the people he represents?  “No bill is perfect and this one will take time to fix.”

Thanks Rick!  Congress exempts themselves and their employees from this awful piece of legislation and give exemptions to the favored political elites in Washington D.C., but the little people who will actually carry the burden of this legislation are ignored and disregarded as too insignificant to be bothered with.  Open-wide and swallow your medicine with a smile, because Big Brother and Sister know what’s good for us.

Larsen: House Republicans are wasting time

WASHINGTON D.C. – With a government shutdown looming, Democratic Congressman Rick Larsen is not happy that House Republicans have passed a bill that would keep the government running, but would de-fund Obamacare.

The House passed a funding bill Friday, but attached a provision that would de-fund the Affordable Care Act.

Larsen says he thinks the Senate will strip out the provision and send it back to the House, so republicans are just wasting time.

Larsen says Obamacare is now the law of the land, and the progress is going to continue.

The House of Representatives also voted to cut $40 billion from the food stamp program and voted to extend across-the-board spending cuts known as sequestration.

Larsen voted against both measures.
