RE Sources Trains People on Talking Points for Tonight’s County Council Meeting

Last night RE Sources held a planning session to educate those in attendance on talking points, emotional connections, opportunity to show you care, and who you are…because you don’t want to argue with the Whatcom County Council…they just need your support to do the right thing. What is the right thing? RE Sources are pushing to encourage the County Council to add the Lummi Nation’s request for a fossil fuel moratorium and restriction of growth for the Cherry Point Industrial areas. What’s next? Cherry Point Park? Cherry Point Heritage Site?

Below is the end of the RE Sources planning session on Monday, Jan. 25th, 2016. Go to the 16 min. mark of the recording and you will hear the speaker from RE Sources advise the audience about how the County Council just needs your support to do the right thing. The right thing for who? Certainly not for all of the people and businesses who rely upon the economic benefits of the Cherry Point Industrial zone. If you attend tonight’s meeting listen for the use of trigger words such as;

Positive: protect, beautiful, forest, clean, healthy, air, water, urban growth areas, future generations, home, values.

Negative: destruction, urban sprawl, finite, line the pockets of, speculators, housing crisis, dirty energy, mines, fracking, pollute, power plants, poison, immoral, dirty industry, developers, property rights extremists.
